Youngest. Skier. Ever.
February 10, 2013
We have discovered a small misfortune that comes with having babies. As wonderful as they are, when they enter the scene, certain things suddenly become distant memories. Such as sleep. Eating out (and enjoying it). And hobbies. Oh hobbies... I know I used to have them. What were they again?
Take skiing, for example. Sam used to be an avid skier, but in the last couple of years it has been difficult for us to find any time to ski. Well, I am happy to inform you that we just returned home from a lovely weekend at Boyne Highlands with Sam's parents. It was our first time skiing in 2 years! Sad, but true. Boy, did we had a great time. Beautiful snow, no lines, and available babysitters... what more could you ask for? And to top it all off, we had the very exciting experience of introducing Luke to skiing!
At 1-day-shy-of-3-years-old, I'll admit, he was a bit young to ski. The ski rental shop did not even carry boots in his size. But we found something that worked, and had an absolute blast putting Luke on the slopes. He loved his skis so much that he insisted on leaving them on, even indoors. He begged and begged us to take him back outside again and again.
Skiing, there may be hope for you yet! Perhaps next winter we can reintroduce you into our lives as a FAMILY activity!
And here are boys enjoying a lazy Sunday morning with Grandma :)
