They may be too young to do much more than ride on a tube at a snail's pace, but taking the kids on the boat is always lots of fun.

Ready to go!

Our fearless captain

Best seat in the house. That's our cottage on the far right.

Who is cooler than these two?

Except maybe these two?

He's way too cool for first grade.

In the arms of Grandma Pearl

Pearl visited us at the cottage one day to spend time with her growing clan of great-grandkids. She especially seemed to love holding the babies. And they especially seemed to love her!

DeJong Vacation - Day 1

July 21, 2012

The beginning of summer was very busy for us, what with the birth of a new little guy into our family and all.  This meant that we didn't get a chance to stay at the cottage at all during May, June, or most of July.  When we did finally make it out there it was to join the rest of the family for a week of fabulous fun.

We were the first to arrive and were able to start our first day at the cottage with peace and quiet.

And that was the only quiet time we had all week!  Once the cousins arrived it was play, play, play, and Luke was in paradise. Meals together were especially fun times for the kids.  Thankfully the older boys were there to make sure that every meal was started the right way.

Meanwhile, Aunt Christy was thrilled to be able to hold her baby niece and nephew as much as she wanted.  This made their mommies very happy too!

My little chatterbox

I love watching Luke play these days.  He FINALLY enjoys playing by himself. (big yay for me!!)  Ever a chatterbox, he talks and talks and talks to himself constantly while he plays.

Here's a video I captured in July of Luke talking about his trains. Hope you don't mind a little Spanish lesson!

Noah and Judah have been subjected to several photo shoots already in their short lives.  We just can't resist capturing them together whenever possible.  This weekend at Grandma & Grandpa's was no exception. Especially in those rare moments when one grabs the other's hand!

However this picture below look more realistic:

Grandma is so happy whenever her babies are around.  Love this picture below!

And of course Luke was not to be left out.  You can probably guess what he had been doing all weekend.

Luke's favorite game

Luke's favorite game this summer goes something like this.  I'm sitting at the kitchen table, enjoying a cup of coffee.  Suddenly I hear, as if from a great distance, a faint voice calling to me. "Mommy....Mommy.....where are you?" (Translate: where am I.)  I walk into the living room and this is what I see.

Can you spot our little Waldo?

"Surprise!! I found you!" (Translate: you found me.)

Meeting Grandma Great

July 9, 2012

I brought the boys over to my grandmother's house today to introduce her to Judah.  When I came to the door, she was standing with her arms outstretched, waiting for the baby.  It's hard to believe that she's 90 years old sometimes.

Grandma showed me a list she had recently compiled (by hand) of the names of all of her descendants in alphabetical order.  There were about twenty "J"s on the list, so Judah was in good company!

Love you, Grandma!

I received a firm reprimand this evening from my mother-in-law and sister-in-law for my lack of blog updates.  Apparently there are still people in this world that do not know what Facebook is.  Anyway... here are our pictures from Judah's first trip to Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Big yawn!

Great Grams and her boys:

On Saturday we spent time with Judah's new cousin and his cousin's cousin. Yeah, that's right.  These three boys were born within 12 days of each other and they are so. stinkin. cute!

Luke, Noah, Judah & Jacob

What a handsome clan :)

Happy (late) fourth of July to you all!
