Undecorating for Christmas

...tuesday, january 17, 2012...day 219...

It's slightly embarrassing to admit that it took us this long to take down our Christmas decorations, but such is our life right now.  Luke was very eager to help me this evening, but after he smashed an electric candle stick, I decided to relegate him to something a little less breakable, like ribbons. He had fun with them, too.

Goodbye, CA

...monday, january 16, 2012...day 218...

It was sad to say goodbye to Angela and the gang, and to sunny California.  We had such a great time and who knows when we'll be back there again.

Luke did pretty well on the flights, although I would not recommend a 3 hour layover in Chicago with a 1.5 year old up past his bedtime.  I was very glad when we finally made it home, and I'm happy that I don't have travel alone again with a toddler any time soon!

The Land of Pink

sunday, january 15, 2012...day 217...

In our house, we have not a single pink toy.  So it was a bit of a shock for me to see a little girl's playroom which, inevitably, is full of all things pink.  And here's our very boyish boy, sitting in a princess palace and drinking from a Disney princess sippy cup, quite oblivious to silly things like gender stereotypes.

That princess palace was pretty cool after all.

Hanging with the Kiddos

We did a lot of hanging around the house while the kids played together.  Here are the three trouble makers.

Okay actually, as you can see, Luke is the only real trouble maker.  Emma is usually the victim and David just seems to be wondering why everyone won't just leave him alone and let him fall back to sleep.

Favorite Breakfast Place

...friday, january 13, 2012...day 215...

A visit to Napa is never complete without a visit to the Eddleman's favorite breakfast spot, Buttercream Bakery.  Luke enjoyed himself very much, seeing as how they gave him crayons and he got to eat as many of mommy's hash browns as he wanted.

Holding hands... again

...thursday, january 12, 2012...day 214...

On our walk this morning, these two started holding hands again, across the strollers. Honestly.

I told Luke that he's not allowed to date until he's at least six. But he just giggled at me.

Emma and Luke

We're in California! Luke and Emma just met about 5 minutes ago, and already Luke's insisting on holding her hand.  Geez this kid moves fast.

Upball

Luke loves, loves, loves, loves his football.  He calls it "upball" and runs to it every time he sees it lying somewhere.

Also, ever since his uncle taught him how to tackle, he keeps trying to catch me unawares and knock me to the ground. (Thanks, David)

Luke decided to break out into spontaneous dancing while eating his toast this morning.
