We spent hours in the kitchen today, making meals for the week while Luke played trains around our feet and scattered Tuperware throughout the house. Sam decided to try his hand at cooking a whole chicken and oh... my... yum...

Luke was SO excited that Ava was here today. Whenever she was napping (and now that she's gone) he asks for her every five minutes.

I was a little nervous taking Luke to a nice photo studio this morning... you never know how kids are going to react in a strange place. But he was a total star and oh my gosh the pictures turned out so adorable.

Luke refuses to wear hats, but I've finally found one that he will keep on, because I told him it makes him look like a DOGGIE.   So now he loves it.

This hat will definitely be making an appearance in his Christmas photos!

We've all been rereading/listening to the Eragon books in order to get ready to read the 4th book, which just came out.  Even Luke is getting into it...

Chuck E Cheese

...saturday, november 5, 2011...day 146...

Since Ian spent the evening with us last night, we decided to treat the boys to their first ever Chuck E Cheese experience. To tell you the truth, Sam and I weren't convinced that bringing two toddlers to a place packed with kids and very rocklike SkeeBall balls was the best idea we'd ever had.  But thankfully, there was a safe and secluded little toddler area that was perfect for us.

Of course we had to venture out for a few token games. Anything with balls was a big hit for the boys.

Returning to the place of my childhood dreams brought back many memories for me, including the years between the ages of 9-11 when I painstakingly saved up 8000 tickets in order to purchase my ultimate dream prize: a Chuck E Cheese doll. Wow. I wonder whatever happened to that doll....  Anyway, as we only managed to collect a measly 26 tickets last night, we pooled our earnings to get some stickers for the boys, which they thoroughly enjoyed sticking all over each other.

Definitely an evening I'm sure we'll be repeating for many years to come!

...friday, november 4, 2011...day 145...

When I run errands with these two, I received a lot of admiring looks and comments about how amazing I must be as the mother of two boys under two.  I rarely feel the need to correct these people, especially last week when a complete stranger assured me,"Oh, the baby looks JUST like you!"

After watching me wander up and down the aisles of Joann's for almost hour, meticulously checking each row and touching hundreds of fabrics, Sam commented, "Oh I get it. This place is your Home Depot."
Oooooh I cannot WAIT to get started on these :)
