Visits from Uncle David and Aunt Sarah are SO MUCH FUN for Luke!

(We like them too, but we don't kid ourselves; we know they're really just here to spend time with our little man. Who wouldn't?)

Busy Days

...tuesday, november 1, 2011...day 142...

Some days are so busy for me, I haven't got a single moment in which I can just drop whatever I'm doing (especially if it's a child) and pick up my camera.  On those days, my friend Megan suggested, "just take a picture of him sleeping and say, 'I love him, and I especially love that he's asleep right now.'"

So here it is: the fruit of my day's hard labor. :)

Halloween is here!

Luke loved putting candy in everyone's baskets:

"What does a monkey say?" "Eeeh eeh eeeh!":

It's almost Halloween!

Luke tried on his costume for the first time today. He was VERY excited to see himself transformed into a monkey.

...saturday, october 29, 2011...day 139...

We gathered together in Holland today. It's the 2 year anniversary of Mom's death, and we wanted to spend the day remembering her and just enjoying ourselves as a family. It was wonderful to have the whole family together.

One of the activities on the docket for the day: Pumpkin Carving :)

Christy and Emily carve with the kids

Allie is so proud of her pumpkin

Andy and Michael work together

Luke is too excited about the lawn mower to want to participate with the pumpkins

Raw pumpkin seeds are not tasty - just ask Cody

This is our best attempt at a family kid shot. Oh well.

Thanks to Christy for the fabulous pictures!

...friday, october 28, 2011...day 138...

When did Luke pick up all this Spanish?? I am seriously shocked.  Last night we started quizzing him on animal sounds, and he got every one.  Okay he didn't get "pez" aka. "fish", but that was a trick question after all. :)

Okay I know his "meow" sounds more like "moo", but I'm totally counting it because he does that for every cat!

Luke said his second ever word in Spanish today! Pez - it means fish.

Also in this video:

agua = water

oveja = sheep

I'm so proud :)

$11.50 bought us 3/4 bushel of apples, enough to make 10 liters of applesauce. Yum!
