Ring Bearer for a Day

...july 16, 2011...day 32...

Mr. Luke was a star today in his Uncle David's wedding.  As the youngest ring bearer I've ever seen, we had no idea how he would perform.  In rehearsal, he chose to stop 5 feet from the front and throw the ring pillow the rest of the way.

Today it was showtime. He ditched his pillow about a third of the way down the aisle, but ran smiling the rest of the way to meet his daddy in the front. I know he looks a little grumpy here, but hey, give the little guy a break, he can't be perfect all of the time.

Hopefully more pics of the wedding will come soon, once I can get them off of other people's cameras. Congrats David and Sarah!

A Moment of Silence Please

No, we did not go see the final HP movie at midnight.  We were slightly less crazy and waited patiently until 10:30am the next morning.  It was a break right in the middle of hanging Chinese lanterns, washing windows and making parking signs.

As a movie, I'd say it was very good, but as I was expecting the big "Avada Keda--"EXPELLIARMUS!"" finish, I was disappointed.

Tonight I enjoyed a fabulous party in honor of my new sister-in-law-to-be, Sarah Hughes.  The bachelorette party was totally original and totally fun. Oh and these chocolate and nut covered strawberries - deeeelicious.

Tonight, G3 Potter's House girls group talked about true love, and well, I absolutely LOVE these girls!

See you next week!

I was folding laundry or something, and when I came in the room, at first I thought bizarrely that Luke was wearing white gloves.  Oh no, that's just yogurt.  He does have a spoon, but I guess he decided that hands are so much more effective.

...july 9, 2011...day 25...

Our three weeks of fun in the sun have sadly drawn to a close.  I apologize to my avid readers that I could not keep up the blog posts this last week, as internet access was limited.  We are home safe and sound, at least for a few days. Thanks for the great vacation everyone!

Singing Sensation

...july 8, 2011...day 24...

I can remember, as a small child, signing along with the congregation for each hymn during church.  Although I did not know any of the words, I would stand on the pew (so that I could see over the heads) and sing my own song while everyone else was signing out of the Psalter Hymnal.  This is another way Luke takes after his mother.  He sings to himself, all the time.  Today we watched him walk up and down the sidewalk, signing to himself contentedly for about 15 minutes. So Cute!

Here's our little star, singing along to Uncle Johnny's guitar strumming.

Luke is getting lots of attention on this vacation. An adult-Luke ratio of 8:1 certainly helps. And he is loving every minute of it!
